An electromagnetic shielding apparatus for a circuit board having solder traces is provided. The shielding apparatus includes a one piece frame unit configured for securement to the solder traces of the circuit board. The frame unit has continuously connecting fencing extending in an outward direction from the surface of the circuit board. The fencing is arranged to surround a plurality of discrete areas. The fencing has separate interior surfaces each of which surrounds and defines the periphery of one of the discrete areas. The shielding apparatus also includes a plurality of lids for shielding the plurality of discrete areas of the circuit board. Each lid includes a top section and lid walls that engage edges of the top section. Each lid is retained by one of the interior surfaces in an installed position to encapsulate one of the discrete areas.
