Method and apparatus for separating a volume of whole blood into at least a plasma component and a red blood cell component comprising centrifuging a separation bag (1) containing a volume of whole blood so as to separate therein at least a first component comprising plasma and a second component comprising red blood cells; transferring the first component into a plasma component bag (4) during centrifugation of the separation bag (1); transferring into the separation bag (1) a volume of wash solution from a wash solution bag (3) during centrifugation of the separation bag (1); mixing the volume of wash solution with the second component; centrifuging the separation bag (1) so as to separate therein a washed red blood cell component and a supernatant component; and transferring the supernatant component into a waste bag (2; 3) during centrifugation of the separation bag (1).
Procédé et appareil de séparation d'un volume de sang total en au moins un constituant plasma et un constituant globules rouges. Ledit procédé consiste à centrifuger une poche de séparation (1) contenant un volume de sang total de manière à y séparer au moins un premier constituant comprenant le plasma et un deuxième constituant comprenant les globules rouges, à transférer le premier constituant dans une poche à constituant plasma (4) pendant la centrifugation de la poche de séparation (1), à transférer dans la poche de séparation (1) un volume de solution de lavage provenant d'une poche de solution de lavage (3) pendant la centrifugation de la poche de séparation (1), à mélanger le volume de la solution de lavage avec le deuxième constituant, à centrifuger la poche de séparation (1) de manière à y séparer un constituant globules rouges lavés et un constituant surnageant, et à transférer le constituant surnageant dans une poche à rebut (2, 3) pendant la centrifugation de la poche de séparation (1).
