A heatable storage system for wet, particulate material such as sand and gravel, comprising a metal container having at least one side defining a chamber for holding the material; heating means adjacent the side to provide heat to the material; to prevent substantial freezing of the side and the material; and agitation and metering means within the chamber to effect agitation of a least a portion of the material and metered dispensation of the material from the chamber.
