Whether or not the provisioning of a given BRI is properly administered is determined by providing a collection of processes which exercise the known network provided supplementary services in a predetermined fashion. Specifically, a predetermined, i.e., algorithmic, process is employed to examine an administration database to determine which DSLs are to support supplementary services and, then, the process invokes a plurality of processes which attempt to activate the expected supplementary service. The basic mode of operation is to generate a connectivity context in which the supplementary service can be invoked and, then, cause the service to be invoked. ISDN messages are transmitted to the network over the D channel of the given BRI both to establish the service context and, then, to invoke the supplemental service. By analyzing the processes and ISDN messages the system can determine if the desired supplementary services are available, and the results of the analysis are recorded and made available to an operator.
On peut déterminer si l'approvisionnement d'un BRI donné est géré correctement en fournissant à celui-ci un ensemble de processus qui font appel d'une façon prédéterminée aux services supplémentaires connus fournis par le réseau. Plus spécifiquement, un processus prédéterminé, par exemple un processus algorithmique, est utilisé pour examiner une base de données d'administration afin d'identifier les DSL qui doivent prendre en charge les services supplémentaires en question, puis ce processus fait appel à une pluralité d'autres processus qui tentent d'activer le service supplémentaire attendu. Le mode de fonctionnement consiste essentiellement à créer un contexte de connectivité dans lequel on peut faire appel au service supplémentaire, puis à faire appel à ce dernier. Les messages d'un réseau numérique à intégration de services sont transmis par celui-ci sur le canal D du BRI en cause pour établir le contexte de service et pour faire appel ensuite au service supplémentaire. En analysant les processus et les messages de ce réseau, le système de l'invention peut déterminer si les services supplémentaires désirés sont disponibles et les résultats de l'analyse sont enregistrés et mis à la disponibilité d'un opérateur.
