Abstract of the Disclosure A weld-cladding method includes the steps of a method of internally weld-cladding a toroidal body, said method comprising the steps of forming a pair of torus-sector half-shells; machining the edges of each half-shell; subsequently welding the half-shells together into a toroidal body; straight- ening and heat treating the toroidal body; thereafter applying a weld-clad along tangential generatrix lines on the inside of the toroidal body; and subsequently stress-annealing the weld-cladded toroidal body. As a result of use of the method, the so-called Kardo seam can be omitted.
