A small side stream of sour natural gas is sweetened using neat triazine at a well or battery site to produce sweet natural gas which is used at the sit to operate ancillary equipment such as valves and heaters. The circuit used comprises a small contactor vessel containing triazine. A mixture of sour gas and neat triazine is continuously fed into the contactor via a header that distributes the mixture across the contactor chamber. The mixture is then dispersed over a reagent contact surface of high surface area. The contactor is externally heated when the weather is cold. The contactor produces a mixture of sweet gas and spent triazine. The components of the mixture are gravity separated in a separator. The sweet gas and spent triazine are separately recovered from the separator.
