An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving channel quality information (CQI) in a communication system having a frame including subchannels corresponding to the same frequency reuse factor or different frequency reuse factors. A base station (BS) allocates at least one of the subchannels in the frame to a subscriber station (SS), and sends a transmission request for a CQI for a subchannel desired to be received, to the SS. The SS measures channel quality for individual subchannels requested by the BS in response to the CQI request, and transmits the measured channel quality to the BS.
Un appareil et un procédé de transmission / réception des informations sur la qualité des canaux (CQI) dans un système de communication comprend une trame possédant des sous-canaux correspondant à un même facteur de réutilisation de fréquences ou à des facteurs différents de réutilisation de fréquences. Une station de base (BS) attribue au moins un des sous-canaux dans la trame à une station d'abonné (SS) et envoie à la SS une requête de transmission pour un CQI pour un sous-canal que l'on désire recevoir. La SS mesure la qualité de canal pour les sous-canaux individuels demandés par BS en réponse à la requête de CQI et transmet la qualité de canal mesurée à la BS.
