The invention relates to a wastewater treatment method. The inventive method comprises the following steps: (a) a reactor is obtained, consisting of an inlet, an outlet, at least one set of electrodes comprising at least one anode and at least one cathode, and a means of circulating the water to be treated between the electrodes in an upward direction; and (b) the water to be treated is circulated between the electrodes of at least one set in an upward direction, such as to subject the water to an electric current and, thus, treat the water by means of electrocoagulation or electroflotation, thereby generating sludge containing at least one pollutant from the water to be treated and treated water. The sludge thus generated is subsequently separated from the treated water. The invention also relates to an apparatus which is used to perform said method. The method and the apparatus can be used effectively to treat wastewater with different compositions and which can contain a wide range of contaminants.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant le traitement des eaux usées. Le procédé selon l'invention comprend les étapes suivantes: (a) on procure un réacteur comprenant une entrée, une sortie, au moins un bloc d'électrodes comprenant au moins une anode et au moins une cathode, et un moyen permettant à l'eau à traiter de circuler entre les électrodes selon un sens ascendant; et (b) on fait passer l'eau à traiter entre les électrodes du au moins un bloc selon un sens ascendant de façon à soumettre l'eau à un courant électrique et ainsi traiter l'eau par électrocoagulation ou électroflottation, générant ainsi une boue contenant au moins un polluant compris dans l'eau à traiter et une eau traitée. La boue ainsi générée est ensuite séparée de l'eau traitée. L'invention concerne également un appareil permettant d'effectuer ce procédé. Le procédé et l'appareil de l'invention permettent de traiter de façon efficace des eaux usées de diverses compositions et pouvant contenir une vaste gamme de contaminants.
