The apparatus comprises : an electrical rotary drive motor; a pulley means having a pulley wheel means operatively coupled to the electrical drive motor, and a pulley line means; an actuator shaft connected to the pulley line means such that operation of the rotary drive motor urges non-arcuate and substantially linear movement of the actuator shaft; loading interface means connected to the actuator shaft for providing an interface between the actuator shaft and a user manipulable vehicle simulator control member, and for applying a loading force as provided by the urging of substantially linear movement of the actuator shaft.
