Provided are an efficient handover apparatus and method in a mobile node. In the method in which a handover is performed in a mobile node which establishes a data communication through a point of attachment (PoA), the method including receiving information regarding capabilities of a new PoA; determining whether Internet protocol version 6 (IPv6) prefix is available at the new PoA, based on the information regarding the capabilities of the new PoA; and generating an address which is to be used by the mobile node in a data communication with the new PoA, according to a method determined based on whether IPv6 prefix is available at the new PoA. Thus, it is possible to determine whether IPv6 prefix is available at a new point of attachment prior to receiving a RA message.

L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de transfert efficace dans un noeud mobile. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à effectuer un transfert dans un noeud mobile qui établit une communication de données par l'intermédiaire d'un point d'attache (PoA). Ce procédé comprend les étapes consistant : à recevoir des informations relatives aux capacités d'un nouveau PoA; à déterminer si le préfixe de la version 6 du protocole Internet (IPv6) est disponible au niveau de ce nouveau PoA, en fonction des informations relatives aux capacités du PoA, et; à générer une adresse qui doit être utilisée par le noeud mobile dans une communication de données avec le nouveau PoA, selon que le préfixe de IPv6 est disponible ou non au niveau du nouveu PoA. Ainsi, il est possible de déterminer si ledit préfixe de IPv6 est disponible au niveau du PoA avant la réception d'un message RA.
