Provided are an on-channel repeater and a method thereof. The on-channel repeater can extract reception channel information from signals transmitted from a main transmitter or another repeater, compensate for channel distortion caused on a transmission channel by inversely reflecting the extracted reception channel information to the received signals, and transmit the channel-distortion compensated signals through the same channel as a reception channel, and a method thereof. The on-channel repeater includes: a receiver for receiving RF signals transmitted from outside; a down-converter for down- converting the received RF signals into signals of a desired band; a channel- estimator for estimating an inverse value of a reception channel based on the down- converted signals; an adaptation filter for compensating for channel distortion by using a filter having the inverse value of the estimated reception channel; an up- converter for up-converting the channel distortion- compensated signals into RF signals; and a transmitter for transmitting the up- converted RF signals.
L'invention concerne un répéteur sur canal et un procédé associé. Ce répéteur sur canal est capable d'extraire une information de réception de canal à partir des signaux émis par un émetteur principal, ou par un autre répéteur, de compenser la distorsion de canal se produisant dans un canal de transmission, par réflexion inverse de l'information de canal de réception extraite sur les signaux reçus, et d'émettre les signaux à distorsion compensée par le même canal que le canal de réception. L'invention porte également sur le procédé de fonctionnement correspondant. Le répéteur sur canal comprend: un récepteur permettant la réception de signaux HF de provenance externe, un convertisseur-abaisseur de fréquence permettant d'abaisser la fréquence des signaux HF reçus pour les transformer en signaux d'une bande choisie; un estimateur de canal permettant d'estimer la valeur inverse d'un canal de réception en fonction des signaux abaissés en fréquence; un filtre adaptateur permettant de compenser la distorsion de canal au moyen d'un filtre présentant la valeur inverse de la valeur estimée du canal de réception; un convertisseur-élévateur de fréquence permettant de convertir les signaux à distorsion compensée en signaux HF; et un émetteur permettant d'émettre les signaux ainsi convertis.
