An apparatus (10) for testing a biological fluid from an animal for the presence of disease in the animal, the apparatus including a container (12), a dipstick (14) and a luminometer (15), an end (31) of the dipstick (14) being adapted to be inserted into a sample of the fluid so that a predetermined amount of the sample becomes attached to the dipstick (14) and takes part in a reaction in the container (12) which produces light emissions, the luminometer (15) being adapted to receive the container (12) and to be operated whereby a determination of the level of bacteria in the sample and hence of disease in the animal is made, by sensing light emissions from the container (12).
L'invention concerne un appareil (10) pour tester un fluide biologique d'un animal malade. Cet appareil comprend un conteneur (12), une bandelette réactive (14) et un luminomètre (15). Une extrémité (31) de la bandelette (14) est prévue pour être insérée dans un échantillon du fluide de telle sorte qu'une quantité prédéterminée de l'échantillon se fixe à la bandelette (14) et réagit dans le conteneur (12), ce qui se traduit par une émission de lumière.
