An electrochemical cell apparatus and method comprising a first electrode and a second electrode wherein the area ratio between them is 10 or higher, for example a metal plate and a metal wire; wherein said first and second electrodes are made from the same material; and wherein the distance between said first electrode and said second electrode is preferably in the range of from about 1 mm to about 1µm is provided. Such electrochemical cell can be used to measure crude oil corrosion using an electrochemical impedance method.

L'invention concerne un appareil à cellule électrochimique et un procédé comprenant une première électrode et une seconde électrode dans lequel le rapport d'aire entre elles est supérieur ou égal à 10, par exemple une plaque de métal et un fil de métal ; où lesdites première et seconde électrodes sont constituées du même matériau ; et où la distance entre ladite première électrode et ladite seconde électrode est de préférence comprise entre environ 1 mm et environ 1 µm. Une telle cellule électrochimique peut être utilisée pour mesurer la corrosion du naphte par un procédé d'impédance électrochimique.
