An apparatus and method for assembling a helicopter main rotor blade subassembly which includes a lower airfoil skin, a core, an upper airfoil skin, and a spar assembly having a tip end and a root end, the apparatus comprising a lower assembly (202) including a base (206) having a contoured upper airfoil nest (208), wherein the contoured upper airfoil nest has a root end and a tip end, at least two guide ramps (214, 216) disposed proximal to the contoured upper airfoil nest, wherein at least one of the guide ramps is disposed proximal to the root end and at least one of the guide ramps is disposed proximal to the tip end, and a plurality of leading-edge pusher cams (230) disposed proximal to the contoured upper airfoil nest. An upper assembly (250) configured for mating with the lower assembly is provided, and comprises a support structure (252) and a flexible impervious membrane (254) supported by the support structure, wherein the flexible impervious membrane and the contoured upper airfoil nest define a molding cavity therebetween upon mating of the upper assembly to the lower assembly.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé pour assembler un sous-ensemble de pale de rotor principal d'hélicoptère, ledit sous-ensemble comprenant un revêtement de profil aérodynamique inférieur, un noyau, un revêtement de profil aérodynamique supérieur et un ensemble longeron comportant une extrémité et un pied. L'appareil comprend un ensemble inférieur (202) présentant une base (206) avec un logement supérieur à profil aérodynamique, ledit logement supérieur à profil aérodynamique (208) possédant une extrémité et un pied, au moins deux rampes de guidage (214, 216) disposées à proximité du logement supérieur à profil aérodynamique, au moins une des rampes de guidage étant disposée à proximité du pied. Au moins une des rampes de guidage est disposée à proximité de l'extrémité. Plusieurs cames de poussée (230) du bord d'attaque sont disposées à proximité du logement supérieur à profil aérodynamique. Un ensemble supérieur (250), configuré pour rejoindre l'ensemble inférieur, comprend une structure de support (252) et une membrane souple imperméable (254) reposant sur la structure de support, ladite membrane souple imperméable et le logement supérieur à profil aérodynamique formant entre eux une cavité de moulage lorsque l'ensemble supérieur rejoint l'ensemble inférieur.
