The present embodiments pro-vide apparatus and methods suitable for con-taining and delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site. The apparatus generally comprises at least one container (18) for holding a therapeu-tic agent, and a pressure source (70) for facili-tating delivery of the therapeutic agent. In one embodiment, the pressure source may be placed in selective fluid communication with a proxi-mal region of the container and fluid from the pressure source may flow through at least a por-tion of the container to urge the therapeutic agent through the container towards the target site. In an alternative embodiment, the pressure source may be selectively in fluid communica-tion with either a first hollow tube (62) and the container so that therapeutic agent is urged into a catheter, or with a second hollow tube (63) and a catheter so that a fluid from the pressure source bypasses the container and enters the catheter.
Les présents modes de réalisation portent sur un appareil et sur des procédés appropriés pour contenir et administrer un agent thérapeutique à un site cible. L'appareil comprend d'une manière générale au moins un récipient (18) destiné à contenir un agent thérapeutique, et une source de pression (70) destinée à faciliter l'administration de l'agent thérapeutique. Dans un mode de réalisation, la source de pression peut être mise en communication fluide sélective avec une région proximale du récipient et un fluide provenant de la source de pression peut circuler dans au moins une partie du récipient pour pousser l'agent thérapeutique du récipient vers le site cible. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la source de pression peut être sélectivement en communication fluidique avec soit un premier tube creux (62) et le récipient de telle sorte que l'agent thérapeutique est poussé vers l'intérieur d'un cathéter, soit avec un second tube creux (63) et un cathéter de telle sorte que le fluide provenant de la source de pression contourne le récipient et entre dans le cathéter.
