APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR CONVEYING BUSINESS FORM ASSEMBLIES AT RIGHT ANGLES FROM THEIR INFEED DIRECTION WHILE MAINTAINING SPATIAL ORIENTATION ABSTRACT At the exit end of a first conveyor conveying form assemblies in a first direction, there is provided a transfer mechanism for changing the direction of conveyance 90° without change of the spatial orientation of the assemblies in the different directions of conveyance. The transfer mechanism includes an alignment guide parallel to the second direction of conveyance, a plurality of rotatable balls longitudinally spaced one from the other likewise in the second direction of conveyance, and an endless conveyor belt angled between 3-9° relative to the second direction of conveyance whereby form assemblies entering the transfer mechanism engage between the balls and the endless belt, causing the assemblies to become aligned to the alignment guide and the assemblies to be displaced in the second direction of conveyance from the transfer mechanism.
