A system (20) and method for diagnostic testing of structures within a body, e.g., organs within the body of a living being, which has been provided with a radioactive imaging agent, e.g., a radiotracer, to cause the structure to produce gamma rays, associated characteristics X-rays, and a continuum of Compton-scattered photons. The system (20) includes a radiation receiving device, e.g., a hand-held probe (22) or camera, an associated signal processor (30B), and an analyzer (30I-30R). The radiation receiving device is arranged to be located adjacent the body and the structure for receiving gamma rays and characteristic X-rays emitted from the structure and for providing a processed electrical signal representative thereof. The processed electrical signal includes a first portion representing the characteristics X-rays received and a second portion representing the gamma rays received.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif (20) ainsi que sur un procédé permettant de mener une épreuve diagnostique de structures dans un corps, des organes se trouvant dans le corps d'un être vivant par exemple, dans lequel a été introduit un agent radioactif tel qu'un traceur radioactif, afin d'amener cette structure à émettre des rayons gamma, des rayons X caractéristiques associés et un continuum de photons à diffusion Compton. Le dispositif (20) comporte un équipement de réception de rayonnement, une sonde à main (22) ou un appareil de prise de vues, par exemple, une unité de traitement de signaux associée (30b) et un analyseur (30I-30R). L'équipement récepteur est agencé de façon à être contigu au corps et à la structure afin de recevoir des rayons gamma et des rayons X caractéristiques émis par la structure et de produire un signal électrique traité qui en soit représentatif. Le signal électrique traité est constitué d'une première partie représentant les rayons X caractéristiques reçus et d'une seconde partie représentant les rayons gammas reçus.
