Apparatus and methods are presented for forming and inserting multi-lobed coils into slots of a stator for an alternator, the coils constituting the winding of the stator. The apparatus includes first and second coiling stations and a coil inserting station. The first and second coiling stations form and load, either sequentially or independently, a coil-inserting tool with first and second multi-lobed semi-coils angularly offset from each other by approximately one half-wave such that the lobes of one semi-coil are located in the spaces between the lobes of the other semi-coil. The coil-inserting tool is then transferred to the coil inserting station where the first and second semi-coils are substantially simultaneously inserted into at least some slots of a stator, each engaged slot receiving a portion of both first and second semi-coils.
Appareil et méthodes pour former et introduire des bobines multilobées dans les encoches d'un stator pour un alternateur, les bobines constituant l'enroulement du stator. L'appareil comprend un premier et un deuxième poste de bobinage et un poste d'introduction de bobine. Le premier et le deuxième poste de bobinage forment et chargent, en séquence ou indépendamment, un outil d'introduction de bobine, la première et la deuxième semi-bobine multilobées étant décalées angulairement l'une de l'autre sur environ une demi-onde, de sorte que les lobes d'une semi-bobine se trouvent dans les espaces entre les lobes de l'autre semi-bobine. L'outil d'introduction de bobine est alors transféré au poste d'introduction de bobine où la première et la deuxième semi-bobine sont introduites de façon substantiellement simultanée dans au moins quelques encoches d'un stator, chaque encoche mise en prise recevant une partie de la première et une partie de la deuxième semi-bobine.
