Methods and apparatus for preventing or limiting the rotation of downhole tools, such as cementing plugs, in a casing string during drillout. The apparatus includes an outer case (26) and a radially expandable sleeve (64) disposed therein. The sleeves will engage cementing plugs (22,24) received therein. The sleeves radially expand when cementing plugs are received therein to grippingly engage the outer case and prevent or limit rotation thereof during drillout.
L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil permettant de prévenir ou de limiter la rotation d'outils de fond, de type bouchons de cimentation, dans une colonne de tubage pendant le forage. L'appareil de l'invention comprend un tube extérieur (26) dans lequel est disposé un manchon (64) extensible dans le sens radial. Le manchon entre en contact avec les bouchons de cimentation (22, 24) reçus à l'intérieur de celui-ci. Ledit manchon s'étend dans le sens radial lorsque les bouchons de cimentation sont reçus à l'intérieur de celui-ci afin d'entrer en contact par accrochage avec le tube extérieur et de prévenir ou de limiter la rotation des bouchons de cimentation pendant le forage.
