Apparatus for cooling hot gas comprising: (i) a vertical elongated vessel (1) provided with an inlet (3) and a outlet (4) for a first cooling medium, a gas inlet (5) and a gas outlet (6), heat exchange tube (7) fluidly connecting the inlet (5) and the outlet (6), (ii) a vertical and centrally positioned open ended downcomer (8) wherein said heat exchange tube (7) is positioned in the space (9) between the downcomer (8) and the vessel wall (10), (iii) the heat exchanger tube (7) is mounted at its upstream end (11) in a tube plate (12) which is provided with means (13) to supply a second cooling medium to the upstream end (11) of the heat exchanger tube (7), means (14) to discharge the used second cooling medium, means (15) to reduce the temperature of the used second cooling medium and means to recycle the second cooling medium.
L'invention concerne un appareil de refroidissement de gaz chaud comprenant : (i) un récipient vertical allongé (1) comprenant une entrée (3) et une sortie (4) pour une première substance de refroidissement, une entrée de gaz (5) et une sortie de gaz (6), un tube d'échange de chaleur (7) permettant le transfert de fluide entre l'entrée (5) et la sortie (6), (ii) une goulotte de descente (8) verticale, située au centre, et ouverte à son extrémité, ledit tube d'échange de chaleur (7) étant positionné dans l'espace (9) entre la goulotte de descente (8) et la paroi du récipient (10), (iii) l'extrémité amont (11) du tube d'échange de chaleur (7) est montée dans une plaque de tube (12) comprenant un moyen (13) permettant l'alimentation d'une deuxième substance de refroidissement à l'extrémité amont (11) du tube d'échange de chaleur (7), un moyen (14) permettant d'évacuer la deuxième substance de refroidissement usagée, un moyen (15) permettant de réduire la température de la deuxième substance de refroidissement usagée et un moyen permettant de recycler la deuxième substance de refroidissement.
