A feedwater heater (14) for an HRSG (A) is provided with a monitoring unit (B) for detecting the presence of condensation in the feedwater heater. The monitoring unit includes a dielectric band (50) around one of the tubes (26) of the feedwater heater near the location where the feedwater is directed into the heater and a conductive band (52) located around the dielectric band. The unit also includes a conductivity sensor (44) installed between a ground (40) on the feedwater heater and the conductive element. Hot gas containing moisture passes through the feedwater heater, and if the temperature of surfaces in the region of the tube around which the dielectric and conductive bands extend drops below the dew point of the gas, an electrically conductive condensate will appear those surfaces and on the tube and will flow over the dielectric band, completing an electric circuit between the tube and the conductive band. The conductivity sensor detects this and hence detects the presence of the condensation.
Un dispositif de chauffage d'eau d'alimentation (14) destiné à un générateur de vapeur à récupération de chaleur (HRSG) (A) est muni d'une unité de surveillance (B) destinée à détecter la présence de condensation dans le dispositif de chauffage d'eau d'alimentation. L'unité de surveillance comprend une bande diélectrique (50) autour de l'un des tubes (26) du dispositif de chauffage d'eau d'alimentation à proximité de l'emplacement où l'eau d'alimentation est dirigée dans le dispositif de chauffage, ainsi qu'une bande conductrice (52) située autour de la bande diélectrique. L'unité comprend également un capteur de conductivité (44) installé entre une masse (40) sur le dispositif de chauffage d'eau d'alimentation et l'élément conducteur. Du gaz chaud contenant de l'humidité traverse le dispositif de chauffage d'eau d'alimentation et si la température des surfaces, au voisinage du tube autour duquel s'étendent les bandes diélectrique et conductrice, chute en dessous du point de rosée du gaz, un condensat conducteur électriquement apparaîtra sur ces surfaces et sur le tube et circulera sur la bande diélectrique, en refermant un circuit électrique entre le tube et la bande conductrice. Le capteur de conductivité détecte ceci et donc détecte la présence de la condensation.
