13 ABSTRACT: An apparatus, for example for recording and/or reading information on an optical record, comprises an electrically controllable reflection device which deflects a radiation beam in direction which is determined by an electric control signal, which causes the pivotable reflection element to pivot about a pivoting axis to a limited extent. To improve the frequency response and rigidity of the reflection device, the base of the reflec- tion element is optical body which comprises a plurality of separate portions and the reflecting surface of the reflection element is interposed between separate portions of the optical body.
