ABSTRACT For accurately metering a film of liquid of process-compatible thickness on a rotating cylinder of a printing machine, a permeable belt is arranged in such a manner that it contacts the rotating cylinder over an adjustable angle of wrap. The film of liquid supplied from an applicator is thereby partly removed. The rotating cylinder transfers the accurately metered film of liquid directly to the forme cylinder of the printing machine.
