CASE: 52-CS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An attachment for a sewing machine is driven by the needle bar, and includes a knife which engages and feeds a ladder of fastener elements through the machine as the machine stitches the elements to fabric. The knife selectively is driven into deeper engagement with the ladder to sever the ladder at the end of the slide fastener. Computer/control devices are provided.
