9397 ABSTRACT Apparatus for terminating flat, multi-conductor cables comprises a cable terminating station having means for supporting a connector housing and cover in superposition, a cable feed track for guiding a cable into register with terminals in the housing, and a ram for pressing the cover and the housing into assembled relationship. A mechanism automatically feeds the cover and housing in partially assembled relationship to the terminating station and the feed track is arranged to feed the cable between the cover and housing so that the cable is terminated when the ram drives the housing down on the cover. The invention also relates to a method of terminating the cable by means of the housing and cover.
