A hand-held sampling apparatus and method are provided. The apparatus has a handle (12), a head (16) connected to the handle (12) and a mechanism for retaining a substrate (45) on the head (16). The substrate (45) is preferably a sheet-form flexible substrate which is mounted so as to present a collection portion thereof for collection of a sample. The substrate is preferably of a dimension so as to be readily fitted into the inlet portion of an analyzer. The apparatus enables an area to be sampled quickly and efficiently, while keeping a user's hands away from the surface, and this enables otherwise inaccessible areas to be sampled. It does not require any intermediate transfer steps, transferring a sample from a collection media to another substrate for subsequent analysis.
Cette invention concerne un dispositif à main de prélèvement ainsi que le procédé correspondant. Ledit dispositif comporte une poignée (12), une tête reliée à la poignée (12) et un mécanisme conçu pour maintenir un substrat (45) sur la tête (16). Ledit substrat (45) est de préférence un substrat souple se présentant sous forme de feuille, qui est monté de manière à présenter une partie destinée au prélèvement d'un échantillon. Ledit substrat possède de préférence une dimension lui permettant d'être facilement adapté à l'intérieur de la zone d'entrée d'un analyseur. Ledit appareil permet à un utilisateur de prélever des échantillons sur une surface, rapidement et efficacement, sans approcher ses mains de ladite surface, et rend ainsi possible les prélèvements sur des surfaces par ailleurs inaccessibles. L'utilisation de ce dispositif ne nécessite aucune autre étape intermédiaire de transfert consistant à transférer un échantillon d'un milieu où l'échantillon a été recueilli, vers un autre substrat en vue de l'analyse ultérieure.
