A method of controlling a digital demodulator (922) coupled to an equalizer (930) includes the steps of generating an equalizer value (930A), filtering (944) the equalizer value (930A) to obtain a post filter output, subtracting the equalizer output signal (930C) from the decoded data (930D) and generating an error value (924A). The post filer output is correlated (948) with the error value (924A) to obtain a correlated value (74A). A control signal is developed from the correlated value and is used to adjust the digital demodulator (922).

L'invention concerne un procédé de commande d'un démodulateur numérique (922) couplé à un égaliseur (930). Ledit procédé consiste à générer une valeur d'égalisation (930A), à filtrer (944) la valeur d'égalisation (930A) afin d'obtenir une sortie après filtrage, à soustraire le signal de sortie (930C) de l'égaliseur des données décodées (930D) et à générer une valeur d'erreur (942A). La sortie après filtrage est corrélée (948) avec la valeur d'erreur (942A) afin d'obtenir une valeur corrélée (74A). Un signal de commande est développé à partir de la valeur corrélée et est utilisé pour régler le démodulateur numérique (922).
