A method of and apparatus for deploying a bow spring centralizer (10) installed on an expandable casing string (30) and restrained in the collapsed configuration by restraining bands (12A, 12B) that rupture, upon expansion of the casing string (30), to deploy the bow spring centralizer (10) and provide stand-off between the expanded casing string (30') and the wall of the borehole. In one embodiment, the bow spring centralizer comprises landings (13) for receiving and retaining the bands (12A, 12B) for restraining the centralizer in the collapsed configuration. In another embodiment, the bands (12A, 12B) are secured to the centralizer (10) to prevent separation of the ruptured bands (12A', 12B') from the deployed centralizer (10').

L'invention concerne une technique et un dispositif pour la mise en place d'un centreur à ressorts bombés (10) installé sur une colonne de tubage déployable (30) et retenu en position rentrée par des brides de retenue (12A, 12B) qui se rompent, lors de l'expansion de la colonne de tubage (30) de manière à laisser se déployer le centreur à ressorts bombés (10) et ménager un espace annulaire entre la colonne de tubage et la paroi du trou de forage. Dans un mode de réalisation, le centreur à ressorts bombés comprend des paliers (13) prévus pour recevoir et retenir les bandes (12A, 12B) et maintenir ainsi le centreur dans la configuration requise.
