Abstract of the Disclosure Apparatus for forming honeycomb material comprising a bonding station for continuously secur- ing together an even numbered plurality of superim- posed webs of flexible sheet material, such as paper, on lines extending longitudinally of the webs and spaced transversely across the webs at substantially equal intervals to form a composite web. A second adhesive station applies stripes of adhesive on an outside face on one of the webs constituting one out- side face of the composite web, these outer stripes extending longitudinally of the composite web and each stripe being positioned intermediate the lines on the inside face of the one web securing this one web to the remaining webs of the composite web. A web feed is intermittently operable in cycles to feed forward an increment of the composite web beyond a reference line a predetermined distance and n intermittently operable drive drives the feed through a cycle to feed forward this increment of predetermined length with a dwell be- tween successive cycles. Segmenting blades are oper- able during each dwell for segmenting this increment from the composite web and for stacking the resulting segments in a stack with the adhesive stripes on the one outside face of each segment adapted to engage the other outside face of an adjacent segment in the stack. A press compresses the stack of segments for bonding the segments together so as to form the honey- comb material. A method of manufacturing honeycomb material is also disclosed.
