Tooling (20) is for forming an article (66) having an injection molded peripheral frame (52) defining an opening closed by an panel insert (48, 140). The insert is struck from sheet material (40) and, together with an associated punch (36), cooperates with a split mold (24, 26) to completely define a mold cavity (30) for injection molding of the article. The panel insert forms a portion of the walls of mold Cavity (30) and is automatically heat bonded to the frame during the molding operation. The panel insert may be peeled from the frame by using a pull tab (76, 142). The pull tab (76) can be formed by punch (36). Pull tab (142) can be separately formed outside of the mold from sheet material, then folded and staked thereto, after which the panel insert (140) is punched from the sheet material so that the pull tab is simultaneously trimmed to its preferred shape.
L'outillage (20) est destiné à former un article (66) possédant un cadre périphérique (52) moulé par injection et définissant une ouverture fermée par une feuille mince rapportée (48, 140). Ladite feuille est forgée dans un matériau en feuille (40) et, conjointement avec un poinçon associé (36), coopère avec un moule composite (24, 26) pour définir complètement une empreinte (30) en vue du moulage par injection de l'article. La feuille mince rapportée forme une partie des parois de l'empreinte (30) et est automatiquement thermosoudée au cadre lors de l'opération de moulage. La feuille mince rapportée peut être pelée sur le cadre à l'aide d'une languette d'arrachement (76, 142). La languette d'arrachement (76) peut être formée par le poinçon (36). La languette d'arrachement (142) peut être formée séparément à l'extérieur du moule dans le matériau en feuille, puis pliée et recourbée, après quoi la feuille mince rapportée (140) est découpée dans le matériau en feuille de sorte que la languette d'arrachement soit simultanément coupée à sa forme préférée.
