ABSTRACT A bag material and the bags made therefrom having a bag wall sheet or film folded to provide a closed folded top for each bag. A zipper strip having a web nested within the bag top fold and having the margins of the web carrying reclosable zipper profiles, with at least one of the margins remaining unattached relative to the bag wall. A tear thread may be carried by the zipper strip, and more particularly the web. The bag may have a starter tab for the tear thread. A method of making the bag making material, and apparatus therefore, are also disclosed.
