ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus is provided for removing a flexible tubular conduit from around an elongated rigid supporting mandrel which is at least several feet long, with said conduit having at least one integral helical reinforc- ing wire extending along the length thereof. The apparatus includes a sup- port structure for the mandrel and its conduit, means for holding an end portion of the conduit in a stationary position, and means for simultane- ously rotating and moving the mandrel relative to the holding means during holding of the conduit by the holding means to remove the mandrel from within the conduit. Such means for rotating and moving operates to rotate the mandrel. in a direction opposite the direction of rotation of the helical reinforcing wire. This causes radial expansion of the conduit relative to the mandrel. As a consequence, this enables easier moving of the mandrel relative to the holding means.
