ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for, and method of, severing a flexible reinforced elas- tomeric conduit supported on a plurality of elongated rigid mandrels is pro- vided. Each mandrel has a length of conduit therearound which is approximately equal to the length of the mandrel. The apparatus includes means for separating the conduit from each of the mandrels, the separating means includ- ing weakening means for weakening the conduit at a location adjacent each end of each mandrel, and means for pulling the weakened conduit apart at each of the locations so that each mandrel has a length of conduit therearound which is approximately equal to the length of the mandrel. By there means, the mandrel may be easily removed from within the flexible tubular conduit in a simple and efficient manner.
