ABSTRACT The invention facilitates the movement of particulate matter (such as a powder) over a surface by making the surface from a material which is porous to gas. In use, gas is forced up through the surface and into the particulate matter. This makes the particulate matter flow more easily over the surface. The invention is claimed to be particularly useful for assisting the flow of matter inside a tank to facilitate discharge of its load. - 1 -
