Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for feeding and cutting off slide fastener ladder as it is sewn directly to fabric, which in- cludes a pair of parallel blades one of which, the feed or indexing blade, is loosely mounted and biased downwardly, and the other of which, the cutter blade, is rigidly mounted so that when the assembly is depressed downwardly to its ful- lest extent, the feed blade yields and cutter blade severs the ladder. A cam arrangement is provided to drive the as- sembly in a rectangular path to engage the ladder element- by-element, pulling it through the sewing station, and an override is provided to momentarily stop the back-and-forth movement of the assembly, at which time a depressor urges the assembly downwardly to accomplish the aforesaid sever- ing action.
