An apparatus for the automated production of ophthalmic lenses, particularly compound lenses having a plastic coating on a plastic lens is described. A mold, after rotational orientation, is placed in a gimbal assembly (301) to provide for the proper tilt. This gimbal assembly forms part of a fixture attached to an indexing means (100) which moves for complete assembly of a molding fixture and then moves the molding fixture through a chamber (110) to cure the resin. A preform, after rotational orientation, is held, by a preform gripper placed above the mold, and with sufficient clearance between the mold and the preform to allow the correct resin thickness during the curing portion of the process. The fixture is also provided with members to firmly grip the preform grippers so as to maintain its orientation throughout the curing process.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de fabrication automatisée des lentilles ophtalmiques, en particulier des lentilles composites présentant un revêtement en plastique sur une lentille en plastique. Un moule, après avoir été orienté par rotation, est placé dans une suspension à la cardan (301) pour assurer le basculement adéquat. Ladite suspension constitue une partie d'un bâti fixé à un moyen d'alignement (100) qui se déplace pour monter complètement un bâti de moulage et faire passer ensuite ce dernier dans une chambre (110) pour la polymérisation de la résine. Une préforme, après avoir été orientée par rotation, est maintenue par une pince à préforme placée au-dessus du moule, et avec un espace suffisant entre le moule et la préforme pour permettre d'obtenir l'épaisseur correcte de résine pendant la phase de polymérisation du procédé. Le bâti est également doté de membres servant à maintenir fermement les pinces à préforme afin de conserver son orientation tout au long de la polymérisation.
