There is provided an improved apparatus for use in carrying a long-barrelled firearm having a stock and a barrel. The apparatus comprises, in combination, a flexible strap assembly, securing means to attach the strap assembly to the long-barrelled firearm, fastening means to provide quick release of the strap assembly and cover means to protect the long-barrelled firearm from precipitation, debris and the like.
