The invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning a submerged surface, that comprises a hollow body and members for driving the hollow body on the submerged surface, a filtration chamber having a liquid inlet (9) into the hollow body located at the base of the hollow body, at least one liquid outlet (10) out of the hollow body, a hydraulic circuit for the liquid flow between the inlet (9) and the outlet (10) through a filtration device (11), characterised in that it comprises at least one rear outlet, and a rigid wall (16) provided in the filtration device (11) and extending in a direction that is not parallel to at least one direction connecting an inlet (9) and an outlet (10) in order to define an obstacle to the liquid flow from said inlet (9) to said outlet (10), thus generating an eddy flow of the liquid in the filtration device downstream from said rigid wall (16).
