ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus incorporates an inductor provided with power supply buses and located in an annular cooling means, and an electromagnetic shield placed inside an orifice of the inductor. Sections of the inductor on both sides of the point of connection of power supply buses thereto are for- med as inserts made of steel having a high electric resis- tivity. Each section is box-shaped with the length thereof exceeding not less than three times the thickness of the inductor, having its longitudinal walls abutted to the late- ral wall of th? inductor facing the ingot being cast. -1-
