An apparatus for controlling a flow of combustion components to a burner of a boiler having a servomotor with a shaft extending therefrom, a gear member interconnected to the shaft so that a rotation of the shaft causes a corresponding movement of the gear member, and a processor connected to the servomotor so as to control a rotation of the shaft relative to a desired flow of a combustion component through a rotary air damper of the burner. The gear member is connected to a control rod extending from the rotary air damper. The gear member includes a first gear affixed to the shaft of the servomotor and a second gear affixed to the control shaft of the rotary air damper. The first and second gears are in meshing relationship. A second servomotor is connected to a valve affixed to a fuel line extending to the boiler. The processor controls the operation of the second servomotor relative to a desired flow of air and fuel to the burner.
