ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Paper trim which is cut from the edges of a web of paper is conveyed in a conduit by air at less than atmospheric pressure to a separating tank. A fan downstream of the separating tank establishes the reduced pressure and a spray nozzle at the top of the tank sprays a pulp down onto the air and trim to separate the trim from the air stream and wash it down into a mixing tank.
