A B S T R A C T Apparatus for correcting the timing of signals reproduced from a dynamic magnetic record in which a clock track recorded at constant frequency is read from the record and used to control entry into a buffer for the signals from the record. Retimed signals are read from the buffer at a constant rate by a clock oscillator. The speed of the record is controlled by the number of signals stored in the buffer. Silo stores and commutated shifting registers are described for use as the buffer. The apparatus is described for use in a facsimile system.
