The lower jaw (14) includes three coplanar-cutting edges (22, 24) and the upper jaw (12) includes three cutting egdes (32, 34, 36) which cooperate with those of the lower jaw (14). Longitudinal cutting edges (32, 34) of the upper jaw (12) are curved along their lengths, and the end element (36) of the upper jaw (12) is slanted with respect to the end element (24) of the lower jaw (14). The apparatus (2) may be attached to existing mounting points (8) of a backhoe (6).
