An apparatus for cutting perforations into moving webs consists of a rotationally drivable perforating cutter and of a grooved cylinder into the peripheral grooves of which the perforating cutter parts penetrate. To avoid any undesirable tearing of the perforations cut in the web, a support is rigidly connected to a cutter shaft, and the support is provided with a pin disposed parallel to the cutter shaft, on which pin a cutter bar carrying the perforating cutter is mounted for limited pivoting.
