Argon injection nozzles are provided in a close-spaced series lengthwise along a treatment trough, in which liquid aluminum is conveyed. The gas is blown in at high Reynolds No, whereby the jets break up into small bubbles. A high average bubble population density is achieved over the whole volume of liquid metal in the treatment trough. De-gassing is achieved in a metal residence time of 15 to 60 seconds, whereby the trough in which treatment takes place can be small.

La présente invention porte sur des buses d'injection d'argon, serrées les unes contre les autres et disposées longitudinalement le long d'un canal de traitement utilisé pour le transport de l'aluminium liquide. L'injection du gaz se fait selon un nombre de Reynolds élevé, ce qui a pour effet de briser les jets en petites bulles. Les buses produisent en moyenne une forte densité de bulles dans le métal liquide s'écoulant dans le canal de traitement. Le dégazage s'effectue en un temps de séjour dans le métal compris entre 15 et 60 secondes, ce qui permet d'utiliser un canal de traitement de petite dimension.
