An apparatus for degassing an aqueous suspension containing pulp fibres, the apparatus comprising an elongated horizontal reservoir (1) and a bypass manifold (2) extending into the reservoir. The bypass manifold (2) is placed inside the reservoir (1) such that it it positioned substantially within the aqueous suspension at the bottom of the reservoir, the manifold thus decreasing the flow cross-sectional area of the aqueous suspension at the inlet end of the bypass manifold (2) in the reservoir (1).

L'invention concerne un dispositif de dégazage d'une suspension aqueuse contenant des fibres de pâte. Ce dispositif comporte un réservoir horizontal allongé (1) et un collecteur de dérivation (2) s'étendant dans le réservoir. Le collecteur de dérivation (2) est placé à l'intérieur du réservoir (1) de manière à se trouver sensiblement à l'intérieur de la suspension aqueuse au fond du réservoir. Le collecteur réduit ainsi la surface de section transversale de la suspension aqueuse au niveau de l'extrémité d'entrée du collecteur de dérivation (2) dans le réservoir (1).
