ABSTRACT Apparatus for detecting malfunctions of an electrical device comprises a current transformer connected to an electrical device, a current-sensitive switch connected to the transformer, a power supply connected to the switch, an indicator connected between the switch and the power supply. The switch prevents the indicator from being actuated when the energy in the device is equal to or greater than a certain level, and permits the indicator to be actuated when the energy in the device is less than that level.
