APPARATUS FOR DEVELOPING LATENT IMAGES Abstract of the Disclosure Apparatus for liquid development of latent photo- graphic or electrostatic images on a support material or film comprises a member against which the support material is clamped. The member has a chamber that is open to the support material and which may selectively be interconnected to a source of air under pressure and to a reservoir con- taining development liquid. As developing liquid is being introduced into the chamber, a flow defining surface moves to a position adjacent to the image-bearing material to form a flow passage for the liquid over the material. An electric potential may be applied to the flow defining surface to provide a development electrode. After development, drying air is introduced into the chamber to remove, squeegie and carry away any fluid remaining on the surface of the support material. The apparatus is arranged to wipe the flow defining surface clean of development liquid before the drying period and to remove that surface from exposure to the drying air. After drying, a member which forms a restricted-flow air passage across the support material is drawn over a wipe surface to clean the member of development components.
