ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is provided a device for a pest control agent containing an earth metal phosphide and/or alkaline earth metal phosphide, preferably in the form of shaped objects, for fumigating rooms, the device consisting of a solid film which is stable to mechanical stress and provided with cavities (or recesses) that contain the pest control agent, and, in a given case, contain a material or mixture of materials which as such or which after the gassing of the pest control agent destroy the traces of phosphide still present in the residue with a water treatment and oxidize the phosphine thus developed to non- toxic compounds, wherein the cavities (or recesses) are covered by a material permeable to atmospheric moisture, and whereby for storage and transportation the device can be packaged gas-tight in a bag, the film with the cavities (or recesses) being made of a synthetic or natural material which is soluble in water or decomposable by liquid water.
