Abstract Disposed is an apparatus for enhancing a search of a table of data stored in a storage unit of a data processing machine. The table of data is associated into exclusive ordered lists by a list linking means which directs the search of the table along the lines o he list. Further the list searching means is able to detect the end of the list and other search conditions that signal that the search need not continue.
